Hey Petersburg! February is a great time to start thinking about what you want to grow in your garden this summer. So grab a cup of coffee and your favorite seed catalog and dream about all the beautiful vegetables & flowers you might grow!?

Some of our favorite seed companies include Foundroot Seeds (located in Haines!), Fedco Seeds, & High Mowing Seeds.  Ask your friends and neighbors what grows well for them and try something new this year!  Maybe consider planting extra so you have some locally grown goodness to contribute to The Market in Petersburg this summer!

The Market will be hosting a Seed Swap and Gardeners Gathering on March 12th, 2022. This will be a great opportunity to trade extra seeds and glean knowledge from one another about planting dates, variety suggestions, and growing tips & tricks!? This will be a free event held at the Public Library — stay tuned to our page for more information as the date approaches. The only vegetables you would want to consider starting BEFORE the seed swap happens are tomatoes, onions & leeks (and only if you have an indoor spot with grow lights!).
